How it works

From invoice to landed cost

The calculator takes your invoice, converts it to Eastern Caribbean dollars and applies the duties and taxes for your vehicle’s category and age.

  1. Step 1

    Log in or register

Create a free account or sign in. The calculator is available to logged-in users, and every estimate is saved to your account.

  2. Step 2

  3. Step 3

    Import inputs

Enter the supplier’s invoice total in US or Eastern Caribbean dollars. For US dollars, check the exchange rate.

  4. Step 4

    Vehicle category

Pick the category that matches the fuel type and engine size, or pick up truck or mini bus.

  5. Step 5

    Calculate

Press Calculate duty. You get customs duty, taxes and fees, and the total landed cost, with a full breakdown.

  6. Step 6

    Save, print or ask

Print the estimate or save it as a PDF. If anything is unclear, contact us about it.

Common questions

Is this the amount I will pay?

This calculator provides an estimate only. Final customs duties, taxes, and related charges may vary based on Customs assessment, documentation, and valuation.

Why do I need an account?

Your account keeps every estimate you run, so you can reopen, print or compare them later, and it lets us help you quickly when you contact us about one.

What if shipping is not on my invoice?

Customs values a vehicle on cost and freight. If shipping was invoiced separately, add it to the invoice total you enter.

Which exchange rate is used?

The form starts with our standard USD → XCD rate. You can change it to the rate your bank used before calculating.

Why is a newer vehicle cheaper to import?

The fixed part of the excise tax is lowest for a new vehicle, higher for a used vehicle up to five years old, and highest for anything older. Age counts model years, so in 2026 a 2021 vehicle is five years old. The Rates page lists the amounts.

Is my vehicle new or used?

Choose New only for a vehicle that has never been registered or used. Anything else is Used, whatever its model year.

Can I use it for a diesel car?

Yes. Diesel has its own column in step 3, because Customs charges diesel at different rates from petrol.Diesel rates are confirmed for engines from 2,001 to 3,000cc; for other diesel sizes, pick the Petrol band until those rates are confirmed. Diesel mini buses have their own category.

What about an electric vehicle?

Pick Electric in step 3. Electric vehicles are charged at the hybrid rates. They have no engine size, so they pay what the smaller hybrids pay: the hybrid import duty and only the fixed part of the excise tax.
